Phnom Penh City Center organized Street Furniture Design Competition’s Award Ceremony at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phukeetra on September 27, 2015.

H.E. Phuoeng Sophean, General Director Board of Architects Cambodia and Secretary of State of Ministry of Land Management and Urban Planning in his speech, said “I appreciate this effort and is very proud to be associated with Phnom Penh City Center for initiating this excellent idea to organize Street Furniture Design Competition to find young, talented future architect for our Kingdom of Cambodia. I see so many young faces that have the potential to make a name for themselves locally and hopefully, internationally.”

“The result today reflects the consciousness of loving architecture, urban planning and construction as many participants have registered to join the competition. This competition also reflects the young talented human resources in the Kingdom of Cambodia whom will contribute constructing Cambodia”.

Students from 9 universities and colleges including the Cambodian Mekong University, Institute of Technology of Cambodia, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Norton University, Pannasastra University of Cambodia, Raffles International College, Royal University of Fine Arts, SETEC Institute and Zaman University have registered to compete in designing street furniture for the PPCC Central Park. The competition was launched on August 16, 2015 and closed on September 16, 2015.

The grand prize of 2-month internship with LOGON, China was won by Lim Yonghuort from Royal University of Fine Arts. The first prize of US$1000 cash went to Ing Porlin also from Royal University of Fine Arts. Taing Narong from Norton University won the second runner up prize of US$500.
