One of Cambodia’s premier urban developments, Phnom Penh City Center (PPCC), was in the regional spotlight in Singapore on Wednesday as PPCC Director Alex Lau introduced the ambitious project to regional property experts as “a safe and green living and working environment” which meets the needs of residents and the city as a whole.

Mr. Lau was speaking at Property Guru’s Asia Real Estate Summit 2017 in Singapore, as part of a panel of regional property experts on the topic of “Outlook and Opportunities across ASEAN Markets.”

Billed as a gathering of “the region’s finest real estate minds,” the two-day summit at the Sands Expo and Convention Center saw more than 100 regional experts from the real estate, design, finance and government sectors share their knowledge and advice on the real estate sector.

Mr. Lau was one of 22 expert speakers at the summit, and was joined on stage by industry colleagues from Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand to discuss investment and sector development in their respective countries.

“Cambodia’s economy has been growing at over 7% for years, and that is unlikely to change. The development in Phnom Penh and across the kingdom in recent years has been phenomenal, and it is truly exciting to see the direction Cambodia is heading,” Mr. Lau told the audience.

“What this means for investors is simple: PPCC’s enviable location and our vision of a safe and green living and working environment, in a country that is rapidly developing and growing, ensures that we are perfectly positioned for our award-winning residential, F&B and professional spaces to become a sound investment, not a gamble. As Cambodia grows, so do we, and so does your investment in PPCC.”

The 111-hectare PPCC site in central Phnom Penh won awards in March at the PropertyGuru Cambodia Property Awards for its Residence90, The EDGE and Vanguard developments, and PPCC’s vision and quality was further recognized in May when Mr. Lau brought home two awards from Bangkok from the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2017-2018.

Mr. Lau said that this regional recognition of PPCC is due to the master development’s urban planning vision, and the positive effect this will have for Phnom Penh and Cambodia at large.

“We understand the importance of creating urban projects that meet the needs not just of the residents – be they residential or commercial – but also of the city at large. PPCC’s vision is to be the example for what Cambodia is capable of creating, and the model for any future such developments across the country.”
