With a total investment of not less than USD300m, condominiums, villas, commercial buildings, hotel, sports complex and luxurious high rise buildings are looming on Boeung Kak. Also being built are infrastructures of road and electricity. Development plans of Shukaku Inc. on the more than 100 hectares of land will add more value and popularity to Phnom Penh City. The development will also provide more options for public transportation with ample parking facilities.

Shukaku Inc’s representative told DAP that the construction of buildings are scattered on different areas of Boeung Kak land. The construction begins with Residence 90 which is an exclusive villa of 90 units only. There are also 200 units of 5-storey commercial buildings, ten to twelve storey condos, and the company’s five-storey office building. Currently Residence 90 and the commercial buildings are for sale and rent.

“In order to give the beauty to the development areas of Boeung Kak especially to promote and support the living of residents, our company has taken 30% of the total land size to construct infrastructures, and more importantly a park for the public. The park is a main open space that will be constructed to provide a community park. The park includes sport facilities, education functions and public areas”, said the representative.

The company’s representative added that the company will transform Boeung Kak’s landscape into a modern city to cope with the increase in population in Phnom Penh. Complete with recreational and living space, supermarkets, schools and amenities of international standard, Shukaku Inc. is creating a harmonious city.

Earlier in its development stage, the company faced a lot of problems but the results are now showing. The land is connected to two main thoroughfares; one connects the Russian Blvd to Tub Nub Toul Kok and the other connects Monivong Blvd, nearly Railway Station, to Wat Neak Wan Street. These two thoroughfares have contributed greatly to the flow of traffic in Khan Doun Penh, 7Makara, Toul Kork and Russei Keo.

The company has connected the electricity network to the development site and is now installing street lights that are much needed for night traffic on the busy inner roads. The drainage system is almost completed and it will help flow out the rain water from the development site.

Beyond the mentioned projects, the company’s representative expects the development to attract more investors, and will create more jobs that will contribute to the economic growth of the country. The infrastructure, the green belt Central Park and luxurious high rise buildings will add beauty to the city.
